This Boho-Modern Bathroom Redo Shows How transformative Custom Roman Shades Can Be

This Boho-Modern Bathroom Redo Shows How transformative Custom Roman Shades Can Be

When one room in a home gets a modern redo, it’s hard to look at other rooms and not think about making a refresh! After Allie Flurer (@theadoredabode) redid her living room into a mix of modern and traditional elements with mostly neutral colors, the nearby bathroom started to look a little lackluster.

1980 Tudor-Style Master Bathroom Gets Modern Style with Roman Shades

The before wasn’t bad, just… dated. “It had an extra long white vanity, white sink, cream walls, cream floor, and builder grade blinds,” Allie says. “Not only was the space underutilized, but it also lacked character!” So Allie set out to give this bathroom a jolt of organization and personality. This is the initial mood board she put together for the overall vision she wanted for the space. She selected a Pleated Roman Shade, using our Belgian Linen: Oatmeal fabric.

Fabric Selection for Roman Shades

With many of the major updates out of the way, Allie knew it was time to give her windows some style, not just function.

Custom Roman Shades Bring Texture to this Master Bathroom

Allie went with an outside mount, as the Bathroom window had a piece of wood trim that goes down the center of the window, making an inside mount not feasible. By selecting an outside mount, the shade is mounted either on the trim surrounding the window, or the wall above the window. A simple corded lift makes the shades easy to raise and lower.
